Following the opening of the Guiyang-Libo section of the newly constructed Guiyang-Nanning High Speed Railway on August 8, the Nanning-Libo section opened for operation on August 31. This signifies the complete operational connection of the Guiyang-Nanning High Speed Railway, introducing a major transportation artery in southwestern China. This development will facilitate more convenient travel between Guizhou and Guangxi and foster closer ties between southwestern and southern China.

The Guiyang-Nanning High Speed Railway is a crucial component of the “Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals” high speed railway network, spanning from Baotou (Yinchuan) to Haikou. With a total length of 482 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the railway features 13 stations along its route. Among them, Guiyangbei Railway Station and Nanningdong Railway Station are existing stations, while the rest are newly built or expanded stations.

It is reported that in its initial phase of operation, CR will schedule trains on a daily, weekend, and peak basis along the Guiyang-Nanning High Speed Railway. With a peak of up to 56 sets of high speed trains in a single day, direct high speed train services will connect Nanning to Guiyang, Chengdu, and other destinations. Travel time between Nanningdong Railway Station and Guiyangdong Railway Station has been significantly reduced from over 5 hours to as fast as 2 hours and 53 minutes. Similarly, the travel time from Nanningdong Railway Station to Chengdudong Railway Station and Chongqingxi Railway Station has been shortened to 6 hours and 51 minutes, and 5 hours and 17 minutes respectively.
