China’s Largest Container Enters Railway Freight Service

According to CR, 50-foot containers, the largest in China, officially entered railway service. Railway multimodal transport express trains carrying these 50-foot containers departed from stations across the country, including: Guangzhou International Port Station, Minhang Railway Station in Shanghai, Changshabei Railway Station, and Wangjiayingxi Railway Station in Kunming. This marks a significant breakthrough in China’s railway freight equipment innovation and freight product upgrades.
Each of these 50-foot containers has a weight of 36 tons, a payload of 30.85 tons, and a volume capacity of 114.4 cubic meters, which is a 50% increase in volume compared to the international standard 40-foot container.
