From April to September, Southeast Asia experienced a peak season for fruit imports. With an abundance of tropical fruits such as durian and mangos entering the market, the China-Laos Railway has seen an upsurge in fruit import transportation. Thai durians, for example, are transported via the China-Laos Railway to Kunming, significantly reducing the transit time from the previous 5-7 days to just 3 days. Compared to traditional sea and road transportation routes, this method results in shorter transit times and lowers the cost, making it highly favored by customers.
To enhance the efficiency of fruit import transportation, railway authorities have collaborated with customs to optimize the transportation process and customs inspection measures. Measures such as establishing green channels and pre-checking documents have significantly reduced the time spent on fruit imports at the Mohan Railway Port.
