On August 23 at 8:08 AM, an international passenger train on the China-Laos Railway embarked from Kunming towards Vientiane, marking yet another journey for both trains and passengers.
The China-Laos Railway passes picturesque landscapes of green mountains and clear waters. Inside, passengers are greeted by attendants like Dai Rui, Head of Passenger Services and Train Manager at CR-Kunming’s Kunming Passenger Depot. They wear ‘Silk Road Floral’ uniforms, which boast a peacock blue base adorned with intricate camellia and rhododendron flower patterns, as they diligently provide impeccable service to travelers. Passengers from all around the world board the high speed trains to experience top-notch railway services, leaving them with a splendid impression of the trains on the steel Silk Road.
In the 20 months since its opening, the China-Laos Railway has transported over 19 million passengers and more than 23 million tons of goods. Ensuring transportation safety, this golden route has been increasingly instrumental, facilitating the travel of people between China and Laos, promoting trade exchanges, and vigorously advancing the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
