Since the launch of the international passenger train on the China-Laos Railway on April 13th, CR-Kunming has focused on fulfilling the aspirations of the people of both China and Laos for better travel experiences. The goal is to make the international passenger train service smooth, efficient, fast, and excellent. Efforts have been made to address transportation challenges and optimize the organization of the international passenger train service on the China-Laos Railway, resulting in a comprehensive improvement in transportation efficiency. The total travel time has been reduced from 10 hours and 30 minutes to 9 hours and 26 minutes.
During the initial period of the train’s service, the clearance time for passengers at the border was around 3 hours. CR-Kunming actively coordinated with customs and immigration authorities, increased staff and equipment, improved and optimized clearance procedures, and successfully reduced the exit and entry time from the previous 1.5 hours to 1 hour each, resulting in a total clearance time of only about 2 hours, reducing the overall time by approximately 1 hour.
Over the past 100 days since the launch of the international passenger train on the China-Laos Railway, it has been favored by both Chinese and foreign passengers. More than 42,000 passengers from 49 countries and regions have chosen to take the China-Laos Railway for cross-border travel by high speed train. With the adjustment of the China-Laos Railway’s train schedule, “Taking the high speed train to Laos, and experiencing China by high speed rail” will become a new travel choice for more people.
